Mega Millions was "born" Aug. 31, 1996 as The Big Game in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts,
Michigan and Virginia. The Mega Millions Lottery name was adopted as the name in May 2002, when the NY
and Ohio Lotteries joined. Mega Millions results are due out Tuesday and Friday evenings just after 11pm
Eastern time.
On Feb. 1st 2010, Mega Millions and Powerball began a cross selling agreement allowing states to sell both games.
