The Pennsylvania Lottery

The Pennsylvania State Lottery was established by legislative action on Aug. 26, 1971, with the first PA lottery game premiering on March 7, 1972. The Pennsylvania Lotto was first played July 12, 1983 and the largest prize occurred on April 26, 1989 when 14 ticket holders split a then North American record $115.5 million for the Super 7 game.
