The Texas State Lottery was established by voter approval of The Lottery Act on Aug. 26, 1991. The first Texas Lottery tickets went on sale on May 29, 1992, with Texas Lotto launching on Nov. 7th, 1992. The largest TX Lotto jackpot was $85 Million on March 7th, 2001. Texas became the 11th state to join the Mega Millions lottery in December 2003. Texas Lottery results are drawn at 10:12pm Central Time.
